I found this web site a few weeks ago called Project Gutenberg that has E-books on just about any topic you can possibly imagine on it, even foreign books. I was blown away when I saw all of the titles that they have and I sent the site to all of my friends and everyone of them was just as impressed as I was. On the site they have an offer for a free CD that has the 600 most popular E-books on it and they also have an offer for a free DVD that has something like 10,000 E-books on it . The DVD does have the 600 books that ar on the CD on it, but you are free to request both the CD & the DVD and you don't even have to pay for the shipping! The site also contains a vast collection of audiobooks that you can download if that appeals to you. The URL is www.gutenberg.org.

An e-book is an electronic book, basically, people take old public domain books and scan them in to their computer to archive them, preserve the books for future generations, and put them on the web, such as gutenberg, so everyone can enjoy them. You can find such works as Julies Vern, Bram Stoker, Charlies Dickens and many more old works by famous authors, and little known authors at Gutenberg.
You can read the electronic text on your computer in any old word processor, or read them in formats that you can read on your halnheld palm pda or pocket pc. you can pick up a great many preformated palm or pocket pc e-books at these sites, for free downloads:
